Rocket, living up to it’s name!

Today we woke up to see that our Rocket was already miles ahead of our other seeds! This afternoon, on checking again, we see that our radish is also pushing above the soil! All good stuff!

We started sowing our seeds two days ago – my bedroom windowsill is now looking like a mini greenhouse 😀

We sowed cabbage, cauliflower, beetroot, onions, sprouts, radish, lovage, cress, various lettuce, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme (sing along..) We need more compost, but as soon as we do we’ll be sowing ‘cut and come again’ lettuce, carrots, and beans.

I won’t have enough room to plant all of the seedlings, so they will be shared amongst my neighbours, community spirit at it’s best.. Now if I can barter them for some joinery work, even better!

We may even have room left for some flowers – we have scattered the poppy seeds Mum gave us, along with Sweet William, and we’ve got Alium and a ‘mystery’ seed (which she didn’t mark – can’t wait to see what it is!) in trays on the kitchen windowsill.

Roll on self-sufficient ish 😀
